Mobile, Alabama native and long time Birmingham resident, Susan has been an
artist at heart all her life. However, it was not until 2004 that she
became serious about exploring her "inner artist". With loving encouragement
from her husband, Tom, along with close friends and family, she decided to
enroll in a local Birmingham art class. Though her husband and children
were always her first, it was in that class that she met the second true love of
her life... painting! Susan knew that there was no turning back. The
art inside her screamed for its right to self expression.

Statement:
My medium of choice is acrylics, using primarily
canvas as support. I am constantly experimenting with other options,
however, which I feel lend endless excitement and variety to the process. I am driven by my intrigue with color,
movement, texture and energy. I am much more concerned with what people feel when they view my art
than with what they actually see. Creating art is truly an emotional
and spiritual journey for me. My work is the product of my heart's
"internal overflow".
My highest goal as an artist is to bring peaceful, positive energy to all those who experience my work.
